Chartered on 27 August, 2014, Rotary Club of Bolpur Rangamati, bearing Club ID- 86129, started its journey with 29 charter members among whom 12 were Ex- Rotaractors under the leadership of past DRRs Rtn. Saptarshi Das Baptoo and Rtn. Binay Agarwal. Charter President of the club was Rtn. Goutam Das. Most of the club members are young and energetic in Rotary District 3240 under Zone II. The club has kindled hope for the Community Development with the motto "Service above Self" in and around Bolpur Santiniketan following the cultural heritage of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore.
Journey started with young and passionate Ex-Rotaractors the club currently boasts of a vibrant membership of 18 comprising of 16 male and 2 female members. The commitment of our members is evident from the 8 Paul Harris Fellows (PHFs), 3 Multiple Paul Harris Fellows (MPHFs) and 5 RLI Graduates among its members. The club has been producing leadership in the District since it started its journey. Among them Rtn. Saptarshi Das Baptoo and Rtn. Prof. Dr. Ananda Chandra Sahoo have served as the Assistant Governors. Another Past President of our club, Rtn. Sudipta Acharya is going to take his responsibility of Assistant Governor of Zone-II in RY 25-26.
Rotary club of Bolpur Rangamati’s signature projects done so far are as follows:
1. Drinking Water Reservoir at Uchkaran High School in Birbhum under District Grant Project in RY 22-23.
2. Distribution of 300 spectacles to the people of Rajatpur village under ROTA VISION.
3. Two Sewing Training Centres at RCC Kamalakantapur under District Grant Project in RY 23-24.
4. Two Adult Literacy Centres at Nurpur village, Birbhum.
Recently the club has received a proposal of Global Grant from Rotary Club of Singapore. The club is thinking of a remarkable project under this Global Grant which is going to be a unique one in this part of the world. Rotary Club of Bolpur Rangamati has been striving hard to fulfill the motto of Rotary "Service Above Self" in every step of its journey
